The Company Held the Summary and Commendation Conference for 2024 TA/Revamp

On the afternoon of January 20, FREP held the Summary Conference for 2024 TA/revamp and Commendation Conference for the “Six Contests and One Assurance”. The Conference comprehensively reviewed the TA/revamp, summarized the experiences and lessons, and commended advanced collectives and outstanding individuals. It was required at the meeting that the entire Company should work together and make persistent efforts to contribute wisdom and strength to building FREP into “a world-class petrochemical company with sustainable competitiveness.”

The Company’s Acting President Lin Xu, as well as Vice Presidents Suchart Phowatthanasathian and Haytham Zamzami attended the Conference and delivered speeches. The Conference was chaired by Vice President Li Ji.

Lin Xu fully commended the achievements scored in the TA/revamp. He pointed out that this TA/revamp was the first time that the Company had materialized the “6-year Turnaround cycle” initiative since the plant was founded. It was also the largest, most project-intensive, most comprehensive, and most demanding TA/revamp in the Company’s history. It was also a major battle with the greatest difficulty in implementation, the widest scope of involvement, and the most fruitful results. After 72 days of efforts around the clock by all participants, a total of 8,809 maintenance projects and 123 capital projects were completed. The peak number of constructors reached 15,600, with nearly 7.6 million safe man-hours. The entire TA/revamp achieved “six in place”, namely, preparation work was in place, safety supervision was in place, construction organization was in place, quality control was in place, start-up and shutdown control was in place, and service guarantee was in place, thus ensuring that the units were shut down stably, repaired well, started smoothly, and operated stably, and ultimately achieving a comprehensive victory in the TA/revamp battle.

Lin Xu pointed out that the overall victory in the TA/revamp battle lied in: First, we insisted on staying fully prepared to ensure the smooth implementation of the TA/revamp; second, we insisted on strict management to ensure absolute control of safety and environmental protection; third, we insisted on quality supervision to lay a solid foundation for stable operation; fourth, we insisted on thorough rectification which has effectively addressed various potential hazards and problems; fifth, we insisted on fulfilling our duties, tempering fine work style of the team, and fostered the fighting spirit of the TA/revamp featuring “top-down alignment, overcoming difficulties, willingness to make sacrifices, and accountability.”

Lin Xu emphasized that it was at the end of the year and the beginning of the new year, and the tasks on all fronts were very heavy. All departments and business teams must focus on the central tasks, proceed steadily, overcome difficulties, and take solid steps to ensure we deliver in all fronts. First, we must strictly control safety and environmental protection; second, we must take firm and down-to-earth steps to ensure stable operation; third, we must take further steps to ensure quality & profitability improvement and turn losses into profits; and fourth, we must comprehensively improve the competency of our team. All departments and business teams should work on getting off to a good start in the year on the basis of a comprehensive summary of last year’s work, to lay a solid foundation for completing the annual production and operation tasks and turning losses into profits to high standards.

Suchart Phowatthanasathian pointed out that this TA is characterized by covering multiple items and a wide range of areas, lasting long and being overwhelmed with heavy tasks. In response, the Company has elaborately planned and encouraged collaboration across departments, and everyone in the Company went all out, and fought day and night. The Company’s employees and contractor employees fully demonstrated the collaborative spirit of “One Team, One Goal”, overcame difficulties, forged ahead courageously, thus making the TA/revamp a complete success. Thanks to all the participants, whether you are contractors or employees of the Company, your dedication and hard work have laid a solid foundation for the safe and stable production of the Company in the next operation cycle.

Haytham Zamzami stated that this TA was the Company’s first materialized “6-year Turnaround cycle” initiative, and it was also the largest and longest-lasting TA. The entire Company and the contractors have worked continuously for more than two months. We have successfully achieved the overall goal of the TA/revamp in 2024 and won a tough battle. The successful completion of the TA tasks was due to the great professionalism and dedication of all departments and teams, as well as the strong cross-functional collaboration among the Company’s various organizations and contractors. Looking ahead to 2025, the Company’s focus has shifted to ensuring safe and stable operation. The entire Company must unite and work hard to achieve the various business goals.

He stressed that all departments, business teams and contractors of the Company should take the winning organizations and individuals as examples, blaze new trails in a pioneering spirit, forge ahead with determination, engage in real practices and solid work, be enthusiastic and press on and make fresh and greater contributions to build the Company into a world-class petrochemical company with sustainable competitiveness.
